The Central Board of Secondary Education has deferred the launch of its Class 12 verification and re-evaluation portal to June 1, 2026. The board said the decision was taken to ensure a transparent and glitch-free process for students applying for post-result activities, including verification of marks and re-evaluation of answer books.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will open its post-result verification and re-evaluation portal for Class 12 students on June 1, 2026, amid mounting concerns over technical glitches and evaluation-related issues. Previously, the evaluation window was scheduled to open today, May 29, 2026.The board said the decision was taken to ensure a transparent, smooth and error-free process for students seeking verification of marks, photocopies of answer books and re-evaluation services after the declaration of board results.

CBSE says portal being strengthened

In an official post on X, CBSE stated that the post-result activities portal will now become operational from June 1 instead of the earlier expected date.A CBSE official said the board is still strengthening the website infrastructure to avoid disruptions during the application process. The move comes after several students reported technical problems while accessing post-result services in recent days. The board added that the revised schedule is aimed at maintaining the “highest standards and protocols of evaluation”.

Technical glitches triggered concerns among students

The delay follows widespread complaints from students and parents over portal-related issues during the answer-sheet access process. Several candidates had faced difficulties in accessing scanned copies of evaluated answer books, while some users also reported payment gateway errors and incorrect fee displays on the portal. The controversy also intensified after concerns were raised over CBSE’s new On Screen Marking (OSM) system introduced for Class 12 evaluation this year. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan recently acknowledged that discrepancies had been observed in the digital evaluation system and assured students that corrective measures would be taken.

Students advised to contact helpline

CBSE has asked students not to panic and advised them to use official support channels for queries related to verification and re-evaluation.Students can contact the CBSE Tele-Counseling Helpline at 1800 11 8004 or write to resultcbse2026@cbseshiksha.in for assistance.

Large number of applications expected

The board is expecting heavy traffic on the portal as lakhs of students are likely to apply for post-result services. Reports indicate that over four lakh applications had already been received earlier for scanned copies of answer books.CBSE’s verification and re-evaluation process allows students to request checking of totalling errors, unchecked answers and re-evaluation of specific responses after reviewing scanned copies of their answer sheets.
