The Assam State School Education Board has officially announced the HS result 2026 via its website, ahsec.assam.gov.in, and resultsassam.nic.in, with a pass percentage of 89.79%. Around 3.3 lakh students appeared for the exam. There has been a slight drop in performance in Arts and Commerce streams, but a remarkable improvement in the Science stream.
Overall Assam HS result 2026 : Arts remains the largest stream
Art was the largest section in Assam. In the total figure of 2,41,124, around 1,91,798 students scored successfully in the exam, leading to a pass percentage of 79.54%.The division-wise distribution is:
- First Division: 54,755
- Second Division: 79,181
- Third Division: 57,862
This shows that although many students have achieved first division marks, most of them are in the second division.
Assam HS Science Result 2026: Strongest growth among all streams
Science emerged as the best-performing stream of the year, both in terms of pass percentage and improvement trend.
- Total appeared: 60,667
- Total passed: 54,474
- Pass percentage: 89.79%
- First Division: 34,079
- Second Division: 17,777
- Third Division: 2,618
Compared to the previous year’s decline, Science has shown a sharp rebound, making it the only major stream to record a clear upward trajectory. The performance has been widely viewed as a stabilising factor in this year’s overall academic outcome.
Assam HS Commerce result 2026 : Stable but slight dip in performance
Commerce witnessed a slight fall in comparison to last year’s performance but continued to maintain a good overall record.
- Total appeared: 19,469
- Total passed: 15,796
- Pass percentage: 81.13%
- First division: 7,787
- Second division: 5,694
- Third division: 2,315
Even though there have been some minor fluctuations over the years, this particular stream has continued to maintain a good first division record.
Assam HS Arts result 2026: Highest participation, moderate decline
Arts was the largest enrolled stream with maximum students appearing for the exam, but this stream saw a small decline in terms of pass percentage.

The large enrolment number for this stream makes it very difficult to consistently maintain good academic results year on year.
Gender performance in Assam HS result 2026: Girls outperform boys across streams
A key highlight of this year’s results is the consistent academic edge held by girl students across all streams.Arts Stream

- Boys pass percentage: 76.10%
Science StreamCommerce Stream
- Girls: 82.67%
- Boys: 80.45%
Vocational Stream
- Girls: 76.74%
- Boys: 72.42%
The gap is most pronounced in Arts and Vocational streams, where girls have clearly widened the performance margin.
Stream-wise enrollment pattern: Arts dominates, Commerce and Science follow
The participation pattern continues to reflect strong academic preferences across disciplines:
- Arts: 2,41,124 students (1,41,534 girls; 99,589 boys)
- Science: 60,667 students (26,474 girls; 34,193 boys)
- Commerce: 19,469 students (5,945 girls; 13,524 boys)
- Vocational: 1,465 students (602 girls; 863 boys)
Arts continues to be the most preferred stream, especially among girls, while boys show a stronger inclination towards Science and Commerce.
