‘Amitabh Bachchan is absolutely fine’: Reports of hospitalisation are false

On Tuesday night, a report claiming that Amitabh Bachchan had been hospitalised left fans worried. As the news spread rapidly, many took to social media to wish the legend a speedy recovery. However, ETimes has exclusively learnt that the reports are untrue. While the actor did visit Nanavati Hospital on Saturday, it was only for a routine check-up.Journalist Vickey Lalwani had reported that Bachchan was admitted to the hospital from Saturday, May 16 onwards and had been staying in the A-wing VIP enclosure for the last three days due to stomach-related issues. Bachchan has been dealing with stomach complications ever since his ‘Coolie’ accident and the report also mentioned that Abhishek Bachchan had visited him at the hospital. However, here’s the truth. A source told ETimes, “Mr Bachchan did visit Nanavati Hospital on Saturday, however, it was a regular check-up which he goes for every month and he returned home after that.” The source further added, “The news is absolutely false. He is absolutely fine and after his regular hospital visit on Saturday, he was back home and was also seen driving his car from Jalsa to Janak the next day. He is currently at home.”Another source close to the family said, “This news is absolutely fake.”Meanwhile, in the wee hours of Wednesday, at 12 19 am, Bachchan has also dropped a cryptic note on his blog amidst the hospitalisation rumours.

The English translation of this poem is, “When the eagle becomes quiet, parrots begin to speak. This one and that one say, ‘Come, let us also start offering advice/drinks.’ After eating millet bread and greens, they begin talking like crows the moment food enters their mouths. One remained a reflection of brother Hill’s education; the other, a memory of Wellington.”Meanwhile, the report of hospitalisation suggests that the actor has been admitted since the last three days and that cannot be true because he was seen fulfilling his ritual of meeting fans on Sunday outside his house. Bachchan had also dropped photos on his blog and expressed, “I go in from the house to meet the wellwishers .. staff security and police tell me its ready to come .. and as I walk apprehension .. will they be there .. will they greet me .. or booo .. ?? and then I hear the cheers , and the adrenaline activates and the body and limbs move in cohesion .. almost as an intrusion .. a loving intrusion .. and the joy of seeing so much joy in others .. the constants , the elderly the little kids who do not know what the heck is going on .. but cute they are ..Ahhhh .. such a blessing ..the Almighty be praised ..ब्राह्मण और सृष्टि के विधाता को, चरण स्पर्श 👣👣👣 , शाष्टांग प्रणाम”On work front, Bachchan is currently filming for the sequel to ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. He will be seen next in ‘Section 84’ which is a courtroom drama, directed by Ribhu Dasgupta. He recently wrapped up the 17th season of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’.
