Florida’s Space Coast set a record in 2025 with 109 orbital rocket launches, surpassing all previous annual records. As of Monday, March 16, 2026, Florida has already seen 18 rocket launches this year.

March is a busy month for space enthusiasts, especially with SpaceX Starlink satellite missions and the highly anticipated NASA Artemis II moon mission as well as Blue Origin’s next New Glenn rocket launch.

Florida Rocket Launch Visibility

Depending on the weather, cloud cover, and rocket trajectory, launches from Florida’s Space Coast can sometimes be seen as far north as Jacksonville Beach and as far south as West Palm Beach. In some cases, SpaceX Falcon 9 rockets have even been spotted in other states.

Rockets in Florida: Launch Locations

Most rockets in Florida launch from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center near Merritt Island or Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. Residents in and around Brevard County usually have the best chance of seeing rockets light up the sky.

Where Can You Watch Rocket Launches in Florida?

  • Northeast Trajectory: Rockets can be visible as far north as Jacksonville Beach, about 160 miles from Cape Canaveral (roughly 2.5-hour drive).
  • Southeast Trajectory: Rockets may be seen as far south as West Palm Beach, about 150 miles from Cape Canaveral (roughly 2 hours 20 minutes drive).
  • Best Viewing: The Space Coast, but launches are often visible from the Treasure Coast and Volusia County as well.
